What do you plan on using it on? and how much horsepower are you trying to achieve? You may be better off going with a T4 end to end and .58 turbine if installing it on at least a 3400 and running 10 psi.

I just had my T67 built by a company in California for an excellent price considerably lower than what's listed in your link and they didn't charge me extra for a water cooled center section and it included a 360 degree thrust bearing and polished compressor not that I really care about that part. I see they are willing to match prices if you find the same turbo cheaper elsewhere so they probably realize that price is a bit much.

For Dyno I'd use about 275 to 300 for island flow and 400 for surge so that it will map your power curve without extreme peaks. You will need to calculate your actual flow at various rpm points and boost and plot those points on the compressor map to make sure you are not into the surge line to your left which I doubt you will be.

Pretty much stock (execpt tb) LX9 3500, using a Getrag Trans. (May get a lumpy cam too or wait till a later date)

Thinking 8psi average until a possible engine build.

House much Horsepower I am trying to achieve? As much as I can within my budget and not breaking anything lol.

This project will be a first timer boost project and is mainly for learning.

I am not planning on getting the Turbo from the link I supplied, that was just for reference, the one I have been planning on getting is a rebuild (never been reinstalled) and getting it for just some work I have done for someone.

This is why I am hoping it will work out OK.

I chose those numbers as a happy medium for desktop dyno. My guess is that the island flow is actually the volume of a particular island on the flow MAP, whether it refers to the area of the island for your peak boost level or the total volume of all of the islands that your engine flow crosses to peak boost setting I don't know, but 300 seems to be a happy medium steming from the T3 turbo value. The surge line number comes into play when the turbo is too big for the engine which will result in your initial boost flow points occuring to the left of the far left line on the compressor MAP which can damage the turbo after a while.

The pressure ratio is how much boost you are running. 14.7 psi is atmospheric pressure, if you want to run 7 psi, add 7psi to 14.7 then divide by 14.7 to get a pressure ratio of 1.48 which represents nearly half an atmosphere of boost or in European terms 1.5 Bar.

Download this the complete version of this program and it will help you get a better understanding as well as plot your points on a compressor MAP. It will also show the flow volume at the rpm you enter so that you can enter it on your compressor MAP by hand.

By looking at the picture you sent me I could tell it is an E cover
3"inlet and a 2" outlet. As far as it being an SC61 I do not believe
that is a 61mm compressor wheel. It may be a 59mm wheel or a little
smaller. To tell what turbine wheel is used try to find a part number on
it. If you tak off the compresor cover it should say CCE61 under the
clamps if it is a 61mm. If it is a CCE60 it is a 59mm wheel.

To Edit; I know the guy with Turbo not tryin to screw me, thats for sure, but he may have bought something himself that was miss advertised?

joseph knows all about mislabeled turbos....

i do to a smaller degree, but it actually worked out in my favor. have the guy disassemble and measure it(with pics of the calipers!) if possible.

I have Turbo now to inspect, I did find CCE61 under the clamp, so it would be a 61mm.

I tried to take all measurements with a Micrometer, (cheapy one)
Big end of compressor fins seems to be 82mm and small 61mm
Big end of Turbine fins seems to be 73mm and small 61mm,
Do those measurements seem correct?
Anymore specs on this?

that comes out to a 55 trim compressor and a 70 trim turbine...

and from the description, the turbine wheel is larger than the one in the description?

which A/R did you go for?

Its Says 60 A/R on the housing.
According to the Stamped Part number it has a 61, Compressor, I guessing my Measurement skills are lacking?

your measurements could be good... the a/r might be a bit on the small side, meaning your boost threshold will be a bit lower than the .82 housing, which would be good for a street driven car, but if it was track only, the .82 would be a better choice.

i have yet to find a defining method of measuring that i can do to measure the a/r myself...
