    3400 Computer

    ok so my father and i are building a 3400, to put in my 95 grand prix... right now its the stock 3100... and im putting a cam in the 3400 im prolly gonna get this one http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...tType=camshaft
    what would i have to do with the computer to be able to take this motor and this cam... i was told eprom... if so where should i look for one and what kind.

    Your stock ECM is obd1.5, with a flash ecm. You have no tuning options. That cam is flat tappet and might even be solid. If you want a cam, you either need an MMS cam or a regrind. I will have regrinds on the store tomorrow with pricing.

    Either way, you need a tunable computer to really get the power from any modifications.

      another question. now i emailed summit bout this chip they said it will work in my car. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
      will it work? i looked into the whole cam idea way to much shit to be able to put a cam in it ....

        No, that won't work. That is for an ECM with a removable PROM. You have an EEPROM soldered to the circuit board.

            ok heres another suggestion, how bout switching the computer with an obd-1 or and obd-2 or won't the pins match up, if not would i be better off getting a comp, and a wiring harness for that motor, that i can program, or get a chip for



            haha i know im confusing i just really want to get this motor in my car, and w/o a computer that is tuned for that motor, the motor is worthless.

                They might have something for you Don't know if it applies toward what you doing but they have some stuff for them pesky 1.5 boards that were produced in 94-95 So check it out
