    VEmaster

has anyone used this? i only saw it mentioned once in a search on here. it sounds promising. it edits the bin file and since tunerpro uses bins, im thinking it will work. what do you think?

        decel? DFCO? or decel enleanment?

and armed with a very time consuming to create spreadsheet, a datalog and FuelTrim, you should be able to tune anything. i can't remember if VEmaster was application specific.

oh... FuelTrim works fine with it. since wifey's GP runs on $88, the lowest section of the VE table is 20kPa, occasionally, when it sucks enough vacuum to get under it, FT ignores it(and it states that it ignores it), and deals with numbers that are applicable. i've now got the idle BLMs of the GP around 124, but i seem to have hit a roadblock since the VE at that area is like .7 after taking enough VE out, and now i have to take fuel out of the VE adder table. so now i have to retune that main and idle VE table again...

Is this with a manual trans?

upgrading to newer A1 code would be the best way to go. The speedo code is usually what messes up the conversion but copying that over and checking the EGR setup if its vacuum will give you a better start.

                oops, automatic...

and by speedo code, are you refering to the VSS pulse divider or road speed constant, or something like that...

and i don't think i've ever seen the vacuum EGR before, only the one i have on the monte, the one on the GP looks damn near identical, plug and everything.

Vacuum was 88 and 89 and some 90 I think. Yes, the pulse and divisor are the vss code.

I would also like to know where you acquire this program you speak of.

VE is still the one thing I have not tuned on my car and I think I would benefit from doing so.

You can download the zip file on Craig Moates' site under Miscellaneous Uploads. I'm thinking it only works with 8D,6E and 32 though.

Ok appears to be a OBDI thing... I'll stick with the table modifier program I have.
