Trying to figure out what computer to use in a '97 Skylark. the car used to have a 3100 and now has a 3400. It ran pretty decent with the 3100 and 3100 injectors but we are thinknig of replacing the injectors with ones from the 3400 and we want to get a compatible computer. We were thinkgi about going with a '96 minivan computer. Any suggestions?

What trans/final drive does it have? That might limit you on stock programmed computers. I would stick with 97+ if possible. Any plans to tune it instead? Might be easier to have the stock ECM programmed for the engine.Ben

What year 3400 injectors are you using?
I can tell you that finding a compatible PCM may be a challenge because even though similar equipment is used between GM makes, the PCM code is usually different. You could have the current PCM tuned. DHP should be able to do that for you.Your local OBDII moderator

I have a 98 Chevy Malibu that came with a 3100. I swapped in a 3400, and used trailblazer injectors. DHP did a crap job on the PCM, and had horrible customer service.
I have MP racing working on a custom tune for me right now. Might want to look him up.

If you buy a DHP powertunr you can edit your stock ECM for the larger injectors, and setup the spark table values that a 3400 uses/etc.
