Tire sizes?

What is the widest tire that will fit my 91 cutlass? I have the stock 15x6 wheels.

6 inch wide rims won't let you go very wide. 225 might be the max for those. 195s are stock right? I think that is what I had on my stock rims on my 91 GP.

Better off finding a set of stock 16" rims for less sidewall and more usable tread on a 225+ tire. 245s fit the car, and maybe 255 if you check clearances. Need some 8" wide rims for 245-255 really.

I was thinking like a 205 55-60 r15 or a 195 55-60 r15

215/60/15 should work well and be close to stock diameter

245 tires are for 7"-8.5" wheels. So you would need a 7.5" wide tire for a 255 tire.
