    I read your question and went totally the wrong way!

    If you go down in gear rating the gears get longer, go up and they get shorter..
    Sorry about that, really stupid. Glad IsaacHayes caught it!!!!

      alright thanks, my trani is a 6WFW, good, bad? will any other tranis work.

        Your FDR is 2.97. 3.33 would make it rev up faster and shift faster. So instead of say 1st shifting at 45mph, it would shift sooner. So you'd accelerate/rev faster but you'd also shift sooner.

          My fdr right now is 3.29 my overall axlwe ratio is 2.93.

          I was thinking about 6PAW fdr is 3.33 overall axle ratio is 2.97
          would that trani give me better 1/4mile

            I found two tranis, one on a 90 grand prix and the other on a 93, would these tranis work in my 96, can i swap out the gear selector sensor or not. also can i swap the shifter to give me selection for all four gears?
