Yeah, what he said, but with some pics.
From what I heard you have to get some parts off a 4t60e with the 3.1 engine b/c that trans had bigger? gear ratio, something to do with the sun gear and other sh...

The gearbox ratios never changed. But you can change the drive chain ratio or the final drive ratio.

Speaking of changing gears I found this on an old forum and was wondering if it was B/S or True

4T60-E comes with a 3.06 carrier with 33/37 final drive gears that equal out to be 3.43 (same idea as a rear end) if u change the carrier to the biggest one that was avaliable which is a 3.33 instead of a 3.06 and with the 33/37 u end up with 3.73's I know it sounds funny but it works. Second a shift kit from Transtar, just some minor valvebody work and the prize piece, a nice torque converter I use Protech converters they got me a nice converter with a 2950 stall which is perfect cuz we all know with the 3.4 it pulls at 4k. i ran 16.60's now i run 15.00's all u v8 mustangs watch out im huntin u hope i help anyone looks to pick up on ur 1/4 time

Any pics of the chain sprockets? I'm assuming that if you could have a chain made to fit you could use any combo of those sprokets, ie 28/37? What does that work out to? I have a book at work that I use to figure this stuff out, but I won't be there until sat.
