    HP difference between 3.1s

hay are all 3.1 from 1990 till 96 the same is it just the computers that make them have different hp like a berreta has 135 hp and 185fb and a cutless has 140 hp and 185 fb also the sunbird has less power so is it the computers cuz my car has 135 hp 180 fb and lol i want the extra 5 hp/fb

94+ are 3100s so they are different. The gen 2 aluminum head 3.1 engine used in the grand prix, cutlass, beretta, cavalier, sunbird, etc are all identical. There are tuning differences but I don't know about them being 5hp. I get that out of the chip, but that is from changes I make, not changes GM made between platforms.

There is a certain year 3.1MPFI L body with supposedly 5-10 more hp than all the rest MPFI's. How true is it? I don't really know.

        Not true

there were some code changes that gained 5 lbs of TQ but HP was 140 for all FWD 3.1's

so were the 94 ga's, skylarks...

              i read a couple reason's.
one was the 94's only had map sensor's where's the 95 and up had maf and map.

also read that the 94 3100's had i guess a less restricted exhaust system.
where's 95 and up had a choking kind.

i can tell ya one thing:
              a 94 3100 with a 95 pcm...make the 94 3100 quicker. lol.
