    Thread Size Question

    Need to buy some helicoils. What thread size are the rocker arms and LIM bolts that go into the heads?
    1999 Grand Am SC/T - 301HP, 365TQ - ARP Rod Bolts, ARP Oil Pan Bolts, ARP Head Studs, Mild Cam, 3500 Heads w/28696 Springs, Ported 3500 LIM & 3400 UIM, GT32R @ 12PSI, Rebuilt Trans, 42.5 Injectors, Racetronix Fuel Pump, TCE Adjustable FPR, SC/T Kit, SC/T Spoiler, Shaved Trunk, WOT-Tech Coil Overs, Solid Rear Laterals w/Poly Bushings, Control Arms w/Poly Bushings, Poly Engine & Trans Mounts, Front & Rear Strut Braces

      I can double check tomorrow if you reply and the email notification reminds me:P 8x1.25 and 10x1.5 are common size and my guess for 10mm rocker and 8mm intake bolts.

        I think you are right on those. Honestly I'd just go to McMasterCarr.com and order a box of helicoils in both sizes. you can't go wrong and it'll cost you a few cents per coil. Its much cheaper then getting them at your local parts store or hardware store. They even sell extra taps should you need them.
