    HMM....RWD 3.4

hey guys i was laying in bed last night and wondering
whats up with the iron head 3.4
it was only in one car camaro
    it was only RWD
and only for two years 93 94
    seems alittle odd to me

it goes along with the lumina apv/transport engine. it was a 3.1l fwd ironhead with tb injection. it was the only 3.1l ironhead fwd, and only tb injection ever in a gm fwd (for a 660).

yea its kinda odd. gm was likely going to develop it more but then scrapped it in favor of the 3800.

Yup just 3 years. Also they only had the 3.1L RWD in the Camaro for 3 years. Oh and the Isuzu trooper had the 3.1L but it had a drivers side starter

i know GM had claimed that it did not use the DOHC motor in the camaro because it would have gotten too close to the Z28's power level and possibly take some of the Z's sales

why they just didnt use the alumnium heads i have no idea...

it would have saved me a lot of work if i already had them
              3.4L camaro some goodies

mabey it waswell, a typical 3.4l ironhead has 20 more hp than an aluminum head 3.1l, so mabey they were scared that with aluminum heads it being to powerfull for what they wanted. just taking a guess here.

i think the intake and exhaust manifolds just flowed better cause theres more room in a camaro to do that type of shit
