I need to DROP OIL PAN! 3.1

Has anyone ever dropped an oil pan on a W-body with a 3.1? Can i lift the motor from the top with an engine lift and unbolt the lower motor mount and horseshoe? Remove starter, ICM and oil filter adapter and it should come out right? No fun but i have to do it somehow, any tips are welcome! Thanks !

might be easier to get those motor holde rbars that go above the motor and hold it there... then undo the subframe ?

What's it on? You can do it on my daughters Grand Am but, not on my son's Grand Prix. Don't forget about the 6 bolts on the side of it.

Its on a 90 turbo grand prix. Once that lower motor mount comes apart, i dont see why it shouldnt come down, I was wondering what experience you guys have had. What bolts? the oil pan bolts obviously?

The 3.1MPFI pan should just slide right out once that lower motor mount comes out. Good thing you dont have the 3100SFI engine.

Leaks oil pretty bad in the back corner, leaking all over the trans. Are you supposed to use silicone on the oil pan gasket? I had the motor out but apparently i did something wrong, whats new.

Yes you should use silicone on the edges of the pan gasket. You should be able to see were it is needed.
