    Valve Stem Seal Issue

    Sorry to butt in but i can't start a thread on my phone im doing a valve job on my 98 3.1 the valve stem seal I got for it should be the right one but its way different than the ones I pulled off my car and they dont seat correctly like the old ones theyfloat off the valve channels im at a loss any one know anything about my problem? you can pm me so no one gets mad not trying the steal someones thread but well sorry

    Moved to your own thread (we need to remove tapatalk most likely), and all I can say is the right one doesn't look like a valve stem seal to me. The left one isn't factory.

      The one on the right is a valve cover seal.

        No its not the vc seal its the tip of the vss I figured it out I had to get the vss for a 99 olds cut 3.1 idk I didnt know the heads are different than a 98gp 3.1 guess its had a head swap or idk something

          Yep, that's definitely what it is. I thought I recognized but couldn't put my finger on it, because it's upside down to how I normally look at them. lol

            Its definitely a valve cover bolt seal. 1994-1999 3100 valve stem seals are all the same, with the spring seat attached. 2000+ are identical but for a different OD on the guide. Older 3.1 don't look like any of the pictures in this thread.

              Yea sappy your right but for some reason they gave me 12 instead of 8 idk I figured it out now its hard doing a full rebuild and working two jobs and trying to think straight lol
