    what could I do to get more horsepower out of my 3100 with out giving up raliabilty If I plane 0.40 off my heads and use severe duty head gaskets would it still be relibile and rember I dont have a lot of money

    no. Replace the lower intake gaskets with the metal gaskets and replace your oil pump drive o ring with the high temp brown ring. Thats reliability factor. If you don't have a lot of money, you should probably save it.

      Going cheap only leads to dissapointment. I penny pinched my old 3400 and it crapped after 4 months and never performed like i wanted it to. This time i'm doing it right...
