    Hybrid Build Connecting Rods

    I need some suggestions here on connecting rods.

    I am thinking about using the Manley Aluminum 350 V8 Connecting rods for my lightweight build. Can any give me a reason why or whynot to use these and if so what do you suggest and WHY.

      not sure about aluminum because the thermal differences vs steel. just from what i hear with the drag racing guys who use them, the rods have to be checked every so often for tolerances.

          I realy want something stronger then stock as this engine will eventually be around 450 HP

              Any different rod is going to be custom work.. Go cheap get Some H beams good for 700hp ...

                  aluminum rods for drag only. so many runs the big ends will end up egging. go get SBC powered metal rods and mill the big ends to fit the crank. those are stronger than the old "pink" rods of the muscle cars.

                      Aftermarket forged steel is the way to go for strength. Aluminum is drag only. Titanium is what you want but yeah, not cheap. I think the rod article is still on this site under "in depth'. Should expand that section some day.
