Might be able to do that... I already have a lower chopped to hell. Might as well chop up the upper (3100) as well.

Measuring the small port 3100 upper, 3400 upper, and 3500 upper would be very interesting to see how much volume each has. And the lower runners too.
But I'm curious as to how much of a difference the plenums are.

114.4 cc for the stock 3500 intake port and 68.6 cc for the stock 3500 exhaust port. 32.4cc combustion chamber. I haven't measured the lower intake or upper.

use a syringe or gradualted cylender. on the race motor, i use cooking oil for ccing combustion chambers, it works quite well. methanol or water is what nhra uses for ccing super stock cars, there is a little varience between both.

Volumes of the 3500?
Has anybody CC'd the runners, ports, or plenum on the 3500 heads? I started calculating them by measuring the top of the runners, and calculating with length, but I was hoping maybe someone has already done it?
Also, when CCing the chambers, I plan on using a syringe and oil with a plexigless block off. Will the valves hold the oil while I'm doing this if the springs are installed?
I'm asking because I need to try and come close to a VE of the engine for turbo(s) selection.Tags: None
