Yeah why not measure as you pour into the plenum, instead of after?

Hmm 3500 runner ~60cc more than 3400. Interesting. Is the 3500 LIM top ports as small at the 3500 plenum? I ask this because the 3500 plenum ports are way smaller stock than the 3400 LIM top ports. I had to gasket match the plenum way more on the 3500 and just touch up on the 3400 LIM.

I have a stand, and you will want that for sure. I have tried using measuring glasses but I prefer the burrette, even if it has to be filled 30-40 times. Id hate to lose a cc per transfer.
The TB extension helps give each runner equal flow.

Would almost be beneficial to pre-full some containers at 500cc, or something along that line. The plenum took 3000 no problem. I don't think you are going to be able to do it from the TB neck, because as I said, the neck extends beyond the first set of ports, and will trap the fluid from going all the way up. Makes me wonder if there would be a benefit from removing this neck extension and making it a true open plenum.It would take me forever to do a plenum.

I use a 100cc burrette and go to 100 and refill back to 0. Alcohol evaporates though that probably won't be measurable. I don't like water because its so thin. Oh, and I use plexiglass and moly lube to seal the top, and have a gasket with a thin plastic piece that blocks off the port when you bolt it to the head. That is how I am sealing it up, along with an injector in the port.
It would take me forever to do a plenum. I don't know if I have enough mystery oil here but I can give the 3500 upper a shot after I do this lower. Not sure how I will seal it all up yet though. probably use more plastic on top of the gaskets and bolt the upper to the lower to seal those all off. Might find a plug for the brake booster and I have vacuum caps I can use on the rest. Really no good reason to cc the EGR portion though which is gonna be intersting. Probably measure it and subtract it.

Mystery oil, good idea, that's how I wanted to do it. Actually was going to use Lucas because that's what I have in the garage.
I used water and a graduated flask, and a .5cc syringe. Filled the runner until the surface tension of the water was flat, then pored it into the flask. The flask is graduated to 500cc's in 50cc incriments, and I kept pulling .5cc out at a time, unitil I got to the 300 mark. I really would be better off getting a better flask that's graduated to 1cc.
I asked the question about methods on cc'ing at some other sites, and people advised against using oil. Alcohol was even recomended.
EDIT: At least I know I'm on the right track. Thanks again, Ben. I'm curious to know how you go about the UIM's

I got 301.4cc for the number 4 3500 LIM runner. Figured I should compare with your results since I have a brand new manifold here to test with. I use marvel mystery oil for ccing. 3400 is next.

Everytime I got to 3500-4000cc's, I would sping a leak. Mad props to you, Ben, who has the patience to deal with this.
I noticed inside the 3500 plenum, the TB neck extends into the plenum about 1/2 way, so I couldn't use the neck to fill or it would trap the water from rising much abouve the middle two ports. I ended up going through the brake booster port with a funnel, but the other vac ports that aren't threaded (or have bolt holes for a flange), and were near impossible to seal good.
I guess I'll try again later, or just use the origional rough estimate I came up with.

3500 runners are 308cc's (measured the LIM).
The plenum is going to be a little tougher.

You mean to get rid of the partial runners on it to find only plenum volume? Yeah that's true. But I'm kind of curious just how much space runners and all they have. It seems the 3100 small port is smaller than a 3400 in space, it's thinner.
