im looking to increase the topend in a 3.1 or 3100-what cam/cam & lifter kit would you guys recommend-what kind of gains do you get typically & what kind of mods are necessary to accommodate such a cam? (if it requires a modded ecm-vaccuum tank-higher compression pistons-etc...) thanks

well you need to give us something to work with. first off what car do you have. what engine. what mods do you have right now. what are you looking in to. what rpm limit and powerband to you want. do you have tunability. there is a big difference in the 3.1 and the 3100...3.1 is more of a rwd block with iron heads, the 3100 is the fwd style alum headed engine...iirc they did make an alum 3.1 but is it considered the 3100 now or something like that

3.1 is also gen 2 MPFI aluminum head, which I think is what he has. Its not called a 3100.

yah thats why i said what i did, it gets kinda fuzzy there for me...so then he can use any of your cams, or run one of the crane or comp cams and be doing good with a chip for the computer

Well 3.1 MPFI is flat tappet. i do have regrinds for those now but I have't made a listing or pricing yet.
