caspers volt booster

I have a blown 02 3100 malibu, does anyone know if the caspers volt booster can be made to work on that car, that is the booster that increases the voltage to the fuel pump starting at 70% throttle, according to 3800 performance its only for pontiacs, anybody have any input on that subject. thanks

i don't see why it couldn't....

then again, i don't see why it would be necessary if a properly sized power and ground were supplied to the pump in the first place.

You should just use a fuel pump hotwire kit. Not many people in 60deg land have used them because we don't all get to the point where we need it. There is a kit by Caspers for the GTP/Regal SS. I do not believe it will work with N-Bodies.

You will probably have to buy your own connectors and make it yourself.

All I think of when someone mentions overvolting their fuel pump is how it's an expensive electric motor and how small electric motors used to burn up so easy as a kid when I overvolted them to see how fast I could get them to spin...

THIS is very true...

the casper's "hot wire" kit is a better alternative IMO, since it will just be capable of delivering more amperage at battery voltage than stock wiring...

but for the price of it..... i get the feeling that it should come with more than just a relay, some 12 guage wiring and a couple of connectors.

Very true. I'm no electronics expert, but I did take 4 years in high school. I would rather run some larger gauge wire from the battery to the relay (maybe even a larger relay), then from the relay to the fuel pump any day, but that's me. If you need more fuel after that, get a larger pump.

Just use thicker gauge wiring to the fuel pump if the problem is voltage loss. If your pump can't support the injectors/mods to the motor at the psi you are running, its time for an upgrade to the fuel pump itself.
