Got any pics of the plenum?

66mm, huh? Looks like I won't have to port it to work with my 65mm. Maybe the new 4-bolt pattern will be the same one as my Ford TB....if not, a new adapter plate is in order. I hope mine gets here soon. It is still listed as "Special Ordered". Did you order yours through the dealer, or GMPD?

I am planning to paint mine black.

Marty i ordered mine straight from GM through work, it had to come from the Lansing Mich Warehouse. which takes 4-5 days for us canukians.

possible it could be a similar t/b bolt pattern, ive never looked at a ford bolt pattern for their t/bs before.
yes Aaron it is a MAP sensor on the manifold. those engines along with 3400's and 3100's use both Map and Maf.

Ben and I were talking yesterday about designing an adapter to allow 62mm (and up) TBs to mount up to the 3500 plenum. That way, the TB design doesn't have to change...

doesnt the 3500 use electronic throttle control
                i.e. no cables
and wouldnt that make it unusable in a hybrid build

That's exactly what Brad was addressing. Using an older TB would essentially eliminate the "Drive-By-Wire".

Is that sensor for the air temp?

That TB runner looks like ass, if in fact it does taper down like it shows. I hope thats what the picture is trying to show (though I hope im wrong).

I'm pretty sure that is the new MAP sensor that has to be used...

no the pic doesnt show too clear. was trying to get a good pic of the open plenum from looking in through the t/b.

it does get a bit flat/oval. but the pic makes it look just wrong there. as you cant see the runner raising up as well. yeah it does look like it tapers down there doesnt it.

the sensor in the pic is the new MAP sensor. it goes directly into the plenum. its much the same type of MAP as the 2.4L and a few other engines used.

will need a new style connector. good thing i have about 5 of those connector ends kicking around in my tool box here at work (whenever at the wreckers ALWAYS cut off and grab up as many connector ends as you can find and stuff in your pockets. they come in handy and are free )

Hey Colin... care to take some measurements of that plenum opening and bolt/hole spacing so I can draw something up? Oh, and are those studs able to be removed (w/o cutting)?
