    3.4 Iron Head Cam Bearings

I can’t find much information about the orientation of the cam bearing oiling holes. I had the machine shop install some SBC cam bearing and when I got it back they had the #1 and #3 at about the 4-5 o’clock but #2 was at 9 o’clock and #4 was at the 2 o’clock. I know the power manual says to install all of them at the 4 o’clock position. Do I need to go back and have them fix them or will it be okay like this?

It might be ok, but I follow the power manual for all the engines I put together.

I appreciate the response. According to that diagram none of them are in the poor/avoid area but the #2 is close. Makes me angry they didn’t listen to me or the info I sent them about installing them because they are the nice bearings off your website.

Clevite bearing manuals also put the optimum location at 2 o'clock (with the range from 2 to 4 o'clock acceptable).
