    idea for crank under drive pully

    well im not thinkin this is ground breakin news or anything, and its prolly not even that good of an idea lol
    but what about taking a stock crank pully and then heat that bitch up with a torch and seperate the v-grooved outter section from the inner section
    get that rubber damper outta there

    and take it to a machine shop and have them lathe mock the v-grooves into that piece

    anyone ever take one apart, is it smooth or not a good surface to do this too
    i realize that a turn off would be the loss of harmonic balancing, but you could get the pully balance

    i wonder what this would cost, maybe its worth lookign into compared to buying an expensive aftermarket one ?

    Id rather have the FFP one as its machined properly already and is lighter. The only way id go with a different setup is if its an underdrive that retains the rubber damper.

          Why not make the other pullies underdrive.?? The alternator and the PS pump would be the HP robbing culprits. The A/C doen't rob power in WOT...only in cruse/part trottle if its on. Don't touch the watter pump.

          Your bearings and crank will thank you for it.
