need to know. i'm new here.

Is the buick 3.3l v6 a 60 or 90 degree engine. and does ne1 know anything about this motor? Redline, torque, horsepower, anything. and is this engine worth putting money into. if so where do i get some performance parts? oh yeah it's in a 1990 buick century limited with a 3 speed w/overdrive. I would like to make this car run around 130-140 mph. I would like to do this without nitrous.

Any help or info is GREATLY appreciated.

Its a 90 degree, and there really isn't much info out there for it. The 3.0 and 3.3 don't get much attention because of the 3.8.

What he has is a 4 speed. 3rd gear is 1:1 and the 4th being the overdrive.

So it is a 4-speed with overdrive.

Depends on how you think about it... it could be a 3-spd WITH overdrive, or a 4-spd INCLUDING overdrive.

Typically don't the manufactures say 4-speed with overdrive though?

They typically say a 4-spd overdrive. There is no other word in there.

                  is it a 3.3 or a 3300
i know the 3300 makes 160 hp and 185 ftlbs of torque
and has a redline of 5500 rpms IIRC
and no its not worth putting any money into and you wont be able to get much out of it unless you spray is with nos or something
better to swap another motor in its place if you are serious about increased performance

yeah ive got a 93 grand am with a 3.3L or 3300 whatever you want to call it, and i think its pretty quick, and ive got the stock cat on it but a straight through muffler at the back and it sounds beefy as hell, it actually sounds like a v-8 with an exhaust system, i love my DOHC's and will always stick next to them but this 3.3L blows them away in sound. my transmission is a 3 speed but when you get to the speed you want it drops a couple hundred rpm's could be a tcc lock i guess, i think if you dump a 5 speed into it, it will haul, and because it has a maf sensor you could prolly run a small amount of boost from a turbo without to much mods. this engine does have steel heads though, damn are they heavy i just did head gaskets 2 months ago.
