In fact I agree with both of you, but it should never become a one-upmanship thing!

I guess we are all after the same thing, however I am very much against creating an "I gave more than you" syndrome.

By the way, when donating, you can choose to donate anonymously or have your donation amount hidden. Then nobody has to know how much you donated.

How did this become a bragging rights thing?? I agree, a supporter is a supporter. I am just basing the awards off of what is "stock" in the software. It sounds like you are wanting what Ben wants (see post 22), yet you are arguing with him about it. Maybe I'll make a poll to let the site decide how they want it. If they vote that everyone should be equal, no matter if they donate a penny or $100, then so be it. I honestly could care less. If Ben, Corey and I end up being the only people who pay for the site, then that's how it'll be. The site will continue to operate as it has for the last 8 years.

I DON'T care and neither should anyone else. The fact that someone is a contibutor to the site should be enough of a tonic and a pat on the back.

Why should anyone else know how much you or I or anyone else can afford?

The fact that someone is able and willing to support the site should be enough in and of itself.

The United Way doesn't gauge my donation every year.

Or how about a monthly commentary on the obdurate participation and views of some members?

Hell I could make Dennis Miller BLUSH! And make Limbaugh seem relevant.

And all of it in some semblance of addressing 60 degree engines, and the people who own them.

So just what is the $$ threshold for that sort of un-banishable freedom?

How about 1 more rod per tier (each is silver), then when they get to 6 they turn gold.

eew. Id rather them all have the same pic and use the old one with the medal and Site Supporter or whatever it was. Clean and simple would be my suggestion.

That looks cool, probably need to make it smaller, though. Might do a couple different things as well, since we have 10 levels of "awards". Might do like a bronze, silver and gold one, then have them build up as follows...

$0.01-9.99 : 1 bronze
$10-24.99 : 1 silver
$25-49.99 : 1 gold
$50-74.99 : 1 gold and 1 bronze
$75-99.99 : 1 gold and 1 silver
etc...

I might change the awards levels as well, since I doubt anyone will ever reach the top, which is currently at more than $1000.
