i get around 4" Hg right off the plenum box. It's not perfectly sealed but it's very close. slightly less with everything connected. Once the new rig is up and going i might upgrade the motors. Both of these pull about 12A together.
I contacted 3M to see if they can provide me with more specs on the motors that i ripped out of 2 $220 vacuums at work..
I can see 12" at 100cfm with an early 1980's Craftsman vac lol. Problem is, it blows a 15amp breaker if anything else is on it, but they don't make things like they used to
ah, cool. Got pics? At the meet, I was thinking you were using a MAF-type setup...
I had a MAP on it to try and get rid of the test pressure gauge but my 2 motors wouldn't pull enough vacuum to get a decent range. I went back to using a regular manometer to measure inches of water. I can adjust to 28" easy now
Maybe some pics when i get the new cabinet put together.
Here's the calibration unit that has to be used everyday the bench is turned on (to zero out the barometer...
and here's what it will kinda look like when the head adapter is finished; ignore the values on the meter and laptop - major vac leaks with the acrylic tube and head resting on the top.
With everyone showing off their workspaces, I figured I'd show off mine as well. Unfortunately, all of the car stuff is still at our other house...
BUT... Luckily, my wife needed my to go over to the other house last night to pick up some paint for a project she is working on at this house, so I took this opportunity to slowly start bringing engine parts over.
Too bad it'll still be a while before I get a chance to do anything with it.
Found a lift for $200 under my budget! Going to the Key's on Sunday B)
Couple had the lift under their 18' stilt house then moved. Now the wife wants to get it out of the storage unit lol. They didn't want to set it up outside and it get ruined
So, had to make some room, and went ahead and put the Bimmer in there to see actual workspace with customers cars inside...
It was from a local welding supply shop and they discounted the last 2. I have a larger one from harbor freight just out of view and the smaller one is a regulator for the die grinder.
