Do you know how much you had to shave off the crank?

    Pictures from Roberts install...

    Turned crank

And you can see where I clearanced for the chain in the cover.

And No I have not had anything "fail" yet because I've caught it before that... A non GM timing set I curved the teeth on the crank gear and also had a very stretched chain causing dimples on my pistons from the exhaust valves. I've since been running an OEM GM timing set that was cryo treated and the last time I inspected it, it looked really good. I'd just like to have something that is a bit more "wear friendly" since really its not strength your gaining its the roller chain design that makes it better.

I'm not pushing big power yet, but I will be very soon, so I don't want to play games with a elcheapo timing set.

Also i think the front cover needs to be clearanced Jon should be able to tell us exactly he installed Robert's The crank needs turned down and the block needs alittle taken out of for the chain Marc has drawings somewhere on here i think

Also i can pay anytime and may get it cryo-treated anyway unless someone can give me a reason not to have it done

strength is the advantage, the crankshaft has to be turned down a little bit to make the chain clear.
