Went to the track this weekend. Had a great time. I was only running wastegate pressure @ 11 psi but ran a 12.3 @ 110 and I was pretty happy with that considering it's my first good set of runs with the car. I know it has more in it and I'm still only at 3.73 gears so I can get more out of it with 4.11s as well.

I was gonna install a boost controller on it and take it to 14 psi but we were trying to get my friends Subaru STI/EG33 swap going in time and didn't quite make it.

Anyways, here's some pics of our trip and the fleet

New motors just about to go in

New clutch. Head studs, picked up some V-bad wastegates, gonna replace the flex section in the headers as well (seen better days).

I need to pick up some 3500's for myself... I have too many 3100's and 3400's lying around.

Went over to Vancouver and picked up a fresh pair of 3500s for $500.

So far plans for this year are:
    Better rear end gearing
ARP head studs (already have them)
    Air-Water intercooler
    Weight loss
    75mm TB
    Install my LS1 front brakes
Possibly QA1 struts up front to match the rear
Also looking at installing a Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box to get more angle and Racecraft drop spindles

Been considering going 3900 but only if I can figure out a way to use the FWD accessories, since I don't want to spend the money on a CNC timing cover. Also I'm unsure what exactly to do about the cam if the stock timing cover is retained.

The reason I would go for 300zx rear setup is availability (don't see many vette setups around here), and cost; people practically give them away. My buddy I'm renting the shop with also happens to have a 1.5-way LSD lying around that would fit it. The 300zx setup comes with a nice subframe to locate all the suspension, so it's just 4 mounting bolts plus shocks/coilovers; 6 mounting locations in total to fab up. The vette IRS just seems much more complicated to set up.

So... fixed the ignition problem (was an issue with the power wire going to the ICM), and have taken it to a couple autoX events but not too much more. Welded in an 8-point Competition Engineering cage about a week ago and installed a Bride racing seat. Interior is now totally stripped except for the dash.

Over the winter I've been throwing around a few ideas for improvements... For autoX and possibly drift events I'd like to improve the steering angle. There was a guy on TGO making some modified knuckles that allowed for 58* of angle which is pretty decent so I've contacted him to see if I can get a set. Oil cooler and power steering cooler are almost certainly happening.

Also a stronger rear end setup will be installed over the winter. I've been throwing the idea around of installing a 300zx IRS in the car since I can source them cheap and they already have the ideal ratio for my car. It won't make the car as easy to drag race on the other hand. I also have a 9" housing to fab in if the IRS doesn't happen. I just started renting a new shop with a professional welder and some other friends so we have everything to make it happen.

Power wise I'd like to grab another engine and build it with ported heads/intakes but not sure whether or not that will happen. Current engine still runs plenty strong and I have probably put about 10-15,000 kms of street driving on it. I was worried about longevity with the stock timing chain at first but there doesn't seem to be any issues yet.
