I have a 95 monte z34 and when i start the car in the morning the rpms go up to 3000 or so and then it will die if i dont give it gas. Every forum that ive read says vaccum or intake leak, but when the engine is at normal operating temp it seems to purr like a kitten. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm just triing to narrow down the problem. thanx!!!

Intake gasket. When it heats up, the gasket expands and seals properly.Ben

Nah, not for intake gaskets. You will lose a little coolant but probably nothing to worry about unless you have nothing in your overflow bottle.Ben

Thanks, I got the plenum off the car tonight, going to finish up tomorrow. The mounting plate above throttle and cruise control cables made it a bitch to get off, but with a little patience, it took me about 30 mins. not bad for first timer! lol1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34
