I have them available right now though they aren't on the store. Ill add them when I wake up today though.

The lifter install is pretty easy if you use some moly lube to hold them in place.

hi Ben; I am interested in your light lifters but have a couple of questions to show my ignorance:

Do you know what the stock application was and the reason I ask is what was the peak rpm of that application? I don't know but I am wondering: if the bleed down rate is high enough or low enough (whichever way you look at it) to work with 7000-7200 rpm? The other thing is using lash caps with them; I presume these are identical to the stockers so if I get slightly higher lift cams from CHRfab what would be recommended there?
I don't know if they weld and grind or what to increase lift. (don't know what to make of DTDyno not increasing hp with higher lift - but find it hard to believe) But if the lift is increased much (or any, I guess) then I will need lash caps too and CHRfab should have that info

Trying to get my ducks in a row, here.
      thx

They work just fine to 7500 RPM at least. I think 8k needs solid lifters. Lash caps, if they take enough metal off the base lobe, you will want them. I know they are available, and will look into them, but I know you will need to know how much CHR takes off to get it right without having the pull the carriers off multiple times to check for valve lash. You will need 7mm lash caps, and I know I found them before when I was looking at solid lifters for our application.

Off topic, but since this topic involved lifters ..

When rebuildin a motor with 200,000 miles on them .. do you need to replace lifters?

                Thanks

The lifters and springs should both be replaced with that many miles. The lifters might be ok, but they will start to give more and more as they wear out, causing power loss. The springs get weaker through use and heat cycles so they can limit your RPM and fail to keep the lifter on the cam lobe at all times.

I am looking for solid lifters next, though I doubt anyone is seriously going to consider them given the amount of work needed to adjust them.

cant wait for the lifters to arrive, so I just let them sit in oil overnight and then install?

Yeah, they come with oil in them (what a mess), so just install and then let it run for a bit. Any ticking will go away after they break in.

Really!?! The 48 g is full and ready to go? I am just used to lifters coming dry..... I don't think I have ever seen them come oiled before.
I wonder if the orig were spec'd dry or wet? Or is that a weight that you got for comparison, Ben? Still, even wet, that is a very good reduction.

I weighed them all dry. They both hold the same amount of oil, so it was either make sure they had the same amount of oil, or make sure they are totally empty to do a fair comparison. They are about 55 grams filled with oil vs 84.1 for stockers.

thats one way of doing it, but it requires different type lifters to put the lash cap on top like the SHO motor. What I am talking about sits right on top of the valve stem above the keepers. The hydraulic part of the lifters rides on top of the valve stem and this is where you want to make up for base lobe changes.
