HAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHHA!!!
I had a Sony amp once. It blew. My sister has a Sony head unit in her Volkswagen. The CD player hasn't worked since she bought the car.
I will say, however, that my best friend has some cheap walmart-grade Sony from about 5 years back in his Jeep, it still works fine.60v6's original Jon M.

If the NASCAR adage "Consistency is the key to a winning season" were true in car stereo, Sony would be bringing up the rear.Originally posted by RidgeRunnerHAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHHA!!!

DIY crossover and Vifa drivers >> InfinityOriginally posted by Canadian Badass v.2.0I've thought about getting some Xplode speakers for my car - cause they are cheap and would match the interior beautifully... but even I am not that stupid. Gonna get some Infinities most likely to go with my AWSOME Kenwood deck, and maybe some KENWOOD subs
I might be a little biased.
I wish I still had my sixty degree.

hi tim, long time no see
i have an xplod head unit in the lumina and its been good for 2 years
have a lower end sony cd deck in the truck, its been in 4 cars so far in 3 years.
my previous sony deck was in 6 cars over the course of 6 years and finally died cause it got wet while sitting out in the garage.
no problems ever with sony hu's but i tend to stay towards other places for speakers and amps
apparently this guy doesnt like his fried amp, however it does belong in a ford exploder.

Nico had put some xplode 5.25s in the doors of the cutlass...i have removed the driver side one already and it looked like crap. Cheap is all I can say for the quality.Ben

I would rather keep my *AUDIOVOX* radio that's in my Volvo over a new sony one.... (but the new front speakers in the Volvo are Infinity)
As for my beretta, I've got pioneer... had decent luck with it... all the speakers and amps are Kicker... (the front speakers still work great considering they've been through two cars and are going on 6 years old!)

Sony x-plode is pretty low quality stuff, the speakers sound "tinny" and the amps have their power ratings cast into the heat sink. No high end amp has this. Decks, difficult to use and generally pretty tacky.

Infinity Reference all around (6402 cf front 9603i rear).
Blaupunkt BPV655 deck.
Profile CA200 200W 2-Channel amp for the 6x9's.
My friend's dad had a sony xplode 12" sub paired with an xplode 1000W amp, the sub blew after 4 months (the cone crack and the surround came detatched). He got another sub (I think Jensen or Alpine... I'm not sure) and had that in for a few weeks and the amp died.
I had xplode 4x6's up front in my car... they sounded alright, I only had them for about 2 months. Nothing beats Infinity though.--Rob

Oh, and as a side note, I took the ORIGINAL Bose speakers out of the rear deck last February (the door speakers are still sitting in the doors, they look fine) and only one of them was really messed up... the other speaker had a little warpage of the surround, but worked fine. I think I tossed both of them.--Rob
