I've had people comment on my "exhaust" when I've gotten on it. It's 2 1/4 mandrel bent with stock style mufflers, it's no performance exhaust (minus being mandrels). What they heard was my gutted airbox, lol. That really throws them for a loop, especially the way it sounds in tunnels/underpasses when I get on it.

i know EXACTLY what you're talking about... except for being a L82 compared to a LQ1... the echo that comes out of an underpass makes everyone take at least a second look. on the highway next to concrete barriers, it does it to a lesser effect. i need to seriously fix the exhaust though... bad crimp in it after the resonator...

its not that i completely despise the l67, but there are ALOT of other good FWD motors out there that GM made. but i can understand how if someones mentality is L67 or nothing. then, they can take a walk.

Jealousy can be an ugly thing... The local GP guys are funny... "How can i break into the 14's?" (5800+ Ft elevation)... And im asking myself, what is the cheapest and easiest way to break the 13's. (i ran a 14.2@102 mph -5800ft)
