How to convert to Pre-94 OBD I ???

    i have a 94 Olds Achieva w/2002 3100SFI, 4T60-E tranny, ABS, Airbag.
1)What yr/make/model do i need to find an ECM from?
2)will i need different harness connectors?
    3)does anyone have wiring diagrams?
    4)am i forgetting anything?

Im guessing a 94/95 DOHC computer is your best bet if you want to retain SFI, trans controls, and tunability. If you aren't MAF now, it would be with that setup. ECM connectors definetly changed. There is a 94 lumina in the junkyard here in warsaw, complete as of a few months ago (doubt there is much desire from anyone in this area for the engine either).

so, 94/95 3.4 DOHC has the MAF setup? or is it a combo MAP/MAF? Do you have a ECM ID# ? can you call your junkyard........see if they still have it,price? i'd assume i'll need the engine harness as well.

Im not awake when they are open:P They wanted 30 bucks for a 3.1 wiring harness, but you have to pull it yourself. They want 50 for the ECM.

You need a 3.1MPFI chip, but it will get it running.

A DOHC chip won't run an MPFI/SFI engine AFAIK. The computer will work, just need to plug in a MPFI PROM.

well im confused now. are you running SFI or MPFI? 94 DOHC was SFI and MAF, so you would just need to run the MAF. I have no idea how well it will like running the stock code. the 93 stock DOHC code will run a 3100 but it wont be optimal, or even close, but it runs.

fuck if I know, its up to you, not me. I would use the 94-95 3.4 DOHC setup and just use the 94-95 DOHC MAF sensor with it. Then reprogram it. That way the trans will be no issue at all, and you can change the shift points as well. Granted I have no idea how much of the DOHC code has been decoded...but I know the engine can be tuned if nothing else.
