RE: computer chip for 3.1 v6

Which cam are you putting in there and what other mods?

ROUGH IDLE, PERFORMANCE USAGE, GOOD MID AND UPPER RPM TORQUE AND HP, 3800-4200 CRUISE RPM, 10.5 TO 12.0 COMPRESSION RATIO ADVISED. BASIC RPM 3800-7200 its a crane cam and im also getting some valve springs

Which crane cam is that and are you raising your compression?

Nevermind, I found it. Solid cam, so I can't really help you with a chip unless you can get the car to me. No one has a chip burned for that cam that I am aware of.

Well, it would be best if you can get the car to me regardless, but the crane 260 cam is one that I have tuned with some other mods. I can setup a chip to work pretty well without the car using that cam. I would raise the compression some as well if you are getting new pistons.

what would be the pricing on all of this like for the cam, valve springs, computer chip, and pistons. and is there any way that i could just put a cam, valve springs and a chip in it without getting new pistons and raising the compression

pistons vary on price but install is gonna cost a lot more than the pistons if you dont do the labor yourself. I don't know what cams cost these days but you will need a set of lifters to go with the cam. Chip is 125, valve springs should be around 80 plus shipping. Custom tuning is 125-350 depending on mods but with just a cam, the tuning wont take much time to figure out. Dyno time for dyno tuning however increases the price quite a bit.

L body is beretta, J body is Cavalier. Sure, I can remove the rev limiter but I don't recommend it.
