Based on info in this thread I have determined that there is no issue with my cooling system.

I know this is technically a thread jack but I thought maybe you guys would like to see SOMEONE making progress with the knowledge you all have provided.

Car idles around 200-210 degrees and stays 180 while driving.

I do still have one issues though. The car will not make heat unless driving highway speeds. Thinking I need a new water pump. Any thoughts?

Could just be bad flow in the heater core that requires more pressure from the pump to work.

i just want to add some i have heater core bypassed in 2006 when it started to leak from the plastic junction close to the fire wall the issue that also affected the cooling system efficiency as i lost room for coolant but here i never needed, some times i used to remove fog from windscreen at foggy weather. here the weather completely different than USA & canada and hotter than middetrenian sea where i came from it is cold there you can't bypass the heater core in winter.

Those factory gauges aren't very accurate. If you really want to know what the temp is buy a scanner and see what the ECM says.

yes maple leaf i agree with u but let us assume that every thing as per factory setting with missing one defense against extra increment over the middle mark that was active before by engaging RH fan . ( middle mark i believe it is the reference regulating indication point used by all car manufactures all over the world ) and all over heating resistance done by defense plane a then B later depends on overheating engine management using the last standing defense until overcoming the problem. so let us assume the acceptable cold start to start ur engine 40 c celsius to fahrenheit (40ºC = 104.00ºF) the dial reads here 40 to 125 c (125ºC = 257.00ºF ) so in USA dial reads from 104.00ºF to 257.00ºF every mark equal to 5.3125 ºC then from 40 to middle range 8 marks . 8 marks x 5.3125 ºC = 42.5 c 42.5 c + 40 =82.5 ºC ( 180.5 f the middle mark ( 2 marks less i am running at 71.875ºC = 161.38ºF
is this reading 161.38ºF is acceptable practically not just therotically. i know that all the intiatives in the forum came from proffisional people and really i like all of u.

While your math may be right I can guarantee you the temps will never match that accurately so your just taking a shot in the dark and a HUGE guess.

                    You "lets assume it is"
