    Fuel issues

I built a 2.8 liter for my 86 fiero gt and toatlly forgot about the fuel system untill i fired it up and heard the telltail sine of a backfire through the intake under load so i pulled a plug and found them to be white with a nice blueing of the electrode. so to make a long story short does anybody know where to get my car tuned in MI? and i dont whant to spend 1500 on a haltech ecu

What part of MI? I'm not sure how close Ben is to you (probably not very), but I'm sure he'd be willing to help if he can.

Hmm, yeah, I forgot that small detail.

There might be a few others on here that might be able to help you out. Or try looking over on realfierotech.com cause I'm sure someone over there could help out.

if it is backfiring maybe you have a timign issue or a plugwire is on the wrong cylinder. YOu ever consider that? Probably not.

maybe its running lean due to 10.5 to 1 compression fully ported and polished heads and intake (upper middle lower plenums) bigger valves and throttle body??? hmmmmm ever consider that probly not

Why not use MegaSquirt on the thing? Definitely cheaper than $1500.

backfiring through the intake is a sure sign of it being lean.

there are other options without going haltech. i run a megasquirt ecu in my car, im quite happy so far. an assembled ecm can be had for around $400. another option would be to head to this site http://www.fierohut.com/ and e-mail the guy about a chip. you can give him your engine specs and he can get you a chip done. he is in vancouver bc though, so shipping might take a bit.
