    No PCV?!! Put that breather on the back cover and run the PCV. Or a catch can with it.

      i havent had a pcv in this car in years. never had a problem before. if i have to have it there for whatever reason then i'll put it on but it isnt going on for now

        You want some sort of PCV on there, especially in a new engine. You don't need moisture/fuel in you oil right off the bat. It's cheap insurance for these vapors.

          i went to start it up monday and it wouldnt fire up. i had all the valves too tight so i readjusted them. when i pulled the valve covers off there was coolant in there mixed with the oil. it was coming from the LIM gasket so i fixed it and reassembled everything today. went to fire it up and all i can say is damn!!! what a sound.

            You want the PCV to create a vacuum source on the crankcase, which helps the rings seal. vacuum pumps are worth hp so even engine vacuum will help over just breathers. Catch can would be excellent.

              breathers are more for sustained high RPM/horse power engines that won't see much vacuum for any length of time. that prevents positive pressure in the crankcase that in turn won't blow out a gasket as well as burning the blow by fumes. i am running a breather but that's only cause i get a lot of oil in my intake track.

                  Especially under boost. A catch can will also keep oil build-up out of the intake tract.

                    never have to re-oil my K&N filter.

                    actually, now that i think about it, it's my breather that was causing the oil build up, not the pvc.

                          It's all on one page on my settings. Yeah I see it was 98% assembled just wondering how it runs. Do you have a 3400 tune chip yet or is tuning going to be from scratch?

                            once i finally got it started it ran alright but with a high idle. its a stock 3.1 program but with the rev and speed limiters removed. after i break it in im going to get it tuned from scratch. the headers are from JBP. i have had them for 2 years now but when i started this build i sent them to jet-hot to get their sterling silver coating put on.
