    lx9 windage tray's anyone?

anyone found a oil pan and a lifter valley windage tray? also has someone had luck putting a 3.4's crank scrapper on the lx9 (I one longer have the crank reluctor wheel)?

There are no scrapers that fit the 3500. They might be able to make one if they have a block/crank/oil pan. The block is notched for the rods to clear and there is no room with the oil pan on for the scraper to go (when they sent me materials to make a template).

I'm sorry the 2 lx9's I've gone through had nothing but the plastic lifter anti-rotation guilds underneath the intake.

The windage tray goes in the oil pan on the mains.

so I take it that no body knows about ANY lifter valley tray. thought someone would have found something or someone that makes one. figured it would help keep the intake temps down?

I don't think any of our motors came with a valley tray, but it shouldn't be too hard to fab up.

not that I've ever seen, I doubt anyone will either, no real demand, I think you're the first to ever ask about one.

ok. so what about the crank scraper? I've seen them from sale for the 3400. wouldn,t it work on the lx9 with some mods done?

A valley tray wouldn't be a bad idea. It would be easy to fabricate and could just lay in the valley with a slight friction fit. Or you could have light weight springs on the top that would contact the bottom of the intake so put some pressure on it. Some Fords and Dodges along with Pontiac all used a valley tray. Some to seal and some just as a splash shield under the manifold.

do you think it would be safe enough to use the 2 middle intake bolts (the ones that don't have intake gasket close) to anchor to?

Why re-invent the wheel? Make it similar to this with the curved black spring steel going under the heads somewhere.
