Wow, lots of interest already. Doesnt it seem like there are alot of things happening all at once all of a sudden? I guess the economy really doesnt suck.

Right. Its never the wrong way to have it balanced with everything and I don't believe there is any balance to offset for the stock damper.
It will be steel, not aluminum.

Yup. Now some of the OLD OLD 2.8 RWD iron heads I believe had externally balanced stuff, but not ours.

I would assume that after what I was told... And technically these are not balancers.... We only have a pulley with a Harmonic dampener, since as noted, internal balancing is achieved.

So I could conceivably put one of these SFI Race serpentine balancers on my balanced 3400 bottom end and not have any issues.....right?
If so, very interested.

Thats what I thought, so having your lower end balanced with the stock dampener is either the wrong way, or it's not even being used in the balancing process.Last edited by 3400-95-Modified; 02-18-2009, 02:58 PM.

We don't have externally balanced motors. Nothing to worry about.

I thought our cranks were internally balanced already so when you balance a lower end all your doing is matching all the rod/piston assy's to the same weight and such and then you would just use a balanced pulley... in other words I did not think we had externally balanced motors.

I'm definately interested. Would these be in steel or aluminum?? (Not sure if an aluminum balanced UDP can be made)..
