yah id up the spark maybe more...but that is low for that cam...the adv dur doesnt have as much of an impact as the .006 and .050 .006 is when port velocity becomes significant enough to measure and the dur at .050 will show mostly the ramp of the cam...that has more to do with vacuum than just flat out adv dur. you can have a cam with adv dur of 280 and .006 at 270 and .050 at .260 and itll run alot worse than one with 280...240...210, diff lobe diff ramp diff characteristics

Ok, parts in run for a little while, noise quieter, but still there slightly. He's gonna drive it for a while to see if it goes away.

    Now question is... Idle Vac

    1357 cam Adv Dur:284/290 LSA:112 IC:108 Lift:515/515 He said he's getting around 6-7in's of vac...

    My cam
    278/289 adv dur .517/.568 lift 112LSA I get about 13in's

so why is his vac so low? would you guys think intake leak somewhere? or does that sound right for that cam?

wow finally got a hold of someone from this place. kid claims he shipped them out 10 days ago and i got a confirmation number out of him which the guy at the post office says doesnt exist.

anyways he says hell ship another set out today so if by next friday i still have nothing, im taking my receipt to the post office and getting my money back.

i used my old shitty breaker bar going the opposite direction to torque the cam gear down so i know thats not going anywhere. i had the spark plugs out so there wasnt anything holding the motor from turning on that aspect.

and yes i did use a postal money order so how do i go about pursuing that matter never had to deal with crap like this.

I just tightened it down and the motor didn't turn over... well maybe it did and I put a screwdriver in the flexplate starter teeth. I can't remember.

Just to touch on the subject of money orders (yea, I know, two pg's ago), just use a US Postal Service money order. 1, you can get a receipt, and 2, if you get shafted on the deal, it's a federal crime - mail fraud !!! The Postal inspectors take a real dim view of it.

104 ft lbs...G-D thats more than the wheels, my question is, how the hell do you hold the cam still to do that? even with the sprocket and chain? you have to use a crank socket?

while you are waiting.. pull the timing cover and verify that your cam bolt is torqued to 104 ft-lbs.

that solved all the valvetrain noise issues that we had in Damon's 3400. His sounded just like yours.
