Believe it or not but those valve covers are polished with chromed screws as a surprised bonus! I was charged $40 for each cover plus $20 shipped back.
It cost the dude $55 for each cover. So he lost $30 on me. And didn't ask for the difference. I'll send the remainder to him.

Jason Farnsworth is well known for this on clubgp.com
gr8racingfool@yahoo.com Contact him if you are serious about doing this stuff. He can do whatever you want.

WOW, I would be too scared to put those on my car!

Chromed or polished??? If they are polished thats by far the best job I have seen

Yeah, i know they got access. But they said they never looked up the specs of stock when they got the measurements for the chrome moly pushrods.

IIRC GM adds extra preload stock so you're probably fine... never hurts to measure twice though.

BTW, your machine shop does have access to the stock length of the pushrods. I forget what the program's called but it's got specs for everything for almost all GM's engines. I looked up several things about my 3500 on it.

That is a small sign of possible relief. Thanks

When I had my regrind, I bought a testing pushrod a couple years later (had run stock pushrods) and I came up with the same stock measurements, oddly enough. Of course, I had other issues after I measured and never ran that engine again. But I thought it was strange as well to come up with the same length.

Of course, I'm Polish, so I probably screwed something up somewhere along the line.

Tight as in to snug or to where I can't move the bolt with a wrench? You want to know how many turns I can turn it?

I need to know for sure. I am going to try and a local friend come out and take the measurements unless i get real specific details on how to.
