One thing that is sure now is that a cast iron crankshaft is newer
    going back to the block.
    I need a forged crank.
And if anybody knows where to get one, please help me.
    I will contact today http://www.scatcrankshafts.com/
Maybe they can manufacture a custom crank for me.
That will be a major cost, but what can you do.

But there was so much positive in the weekend , that a new (better) engine
    will be built.

And some better video from the start is now on YouTube:

That was a question LOL I will rephrase , since I cant seem to type today
Did the damper do the damage there or over revving ??
And why since I am to lazy to reread the entire post "why was it needed "??

Because a harmonic balancer/damper has nothing to do with engine balance.

Crank usually breaks between 3 and 4 cylinder.

Wow thats some serious destruction! Odd that the crank broke at the snout like that, usually happens on supercharged engines. I wonder what the rest of the bottom end looks like....

I'd agree with that. I don't trust those dampers one bit. If I remember right the ATIs need to be rebuilt like every race season. How do you tell when they are going bad? Not sure that you can.

As for the Fluid Damper style that is a crap shoot. It's right or it's not. I've heard that they are not happy or helpful at colder air temps. Swear there was something about letting them sit too long(on the crank in the off season) and the need for a fluid change once a year.

Don't take what I say as pure fact. All the research that I did was a great many years ago. The only sure fact that was for me it had to be stock. But.....my build was not going to be anything near yours.

So sad to hear that. We lost an engine 2 weeks ago, two hours in the 14hr race, lost oil pressure and spun bearings.

And WOW! That is some catastrophic damage.

    Hi V6 friends!

First race of this season is over.
    Good news and bad news.

Friday the car and engine worked well in free practice.
    Lap times got better.

Saturday was the qualifing. I was 4 th , 20 cars over all.
    I was happy with that.

    Then the bad news.
Saturday was also the first race.
First lap was OK, but then something happened.
Sound of the engine changed, I felt loss of power.
Couple of fellow competitors overtook me.

    CABOOM!

    Crankshaft broke and thats it.
You can see shit happens in this video.
    Total loss of the engine.
Sorry about the quality of this video, better footage was also taken,
I update the YouTube link later.

Busted on that one. From now on I will say rear shock tower bar or brace.

Just realized this is a mid front engine car with that 60 degree in there. Looking forward to seeing this on the track!

I feel like I've been waiting forever, sure it's the same for you.

That is a very nice idea! I don't see any filters or seals around the boxes. Any plans for those later?
Damn...can't remember when cold air does its best. Something like 3,500rpm and up? I think you will be fine with the RPM range that you use(lol).

Did you ever get a chance to build a shock bar or brace?
