    96-97 Cam specs buy in

Ben and I have been talking about getting a set of 96-97 cams speced so we can see if they are any better than 91-95 cams. There is a company in LA that can profile the cams and give us numbers that can help Ben with his research. I have a set to send down there to be speced, but I don't have the money for the profiling AND shipping, so if anyone would be interested in these numbers and you'd like to donate to help me get those cams down there sooner, it'd be appriciated.

I can take donations to my Paypal account at grand_prix_man_2000@yahoo.com.

It's $50 to profile the cams, which I'm covering, but I want to ship them in the carrier for protection because I do intend to use them at some point. The shipping is probably going to be around $60 round trip.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Hey, thanks guys! That's more than I expected so soon! I'm getting paid again on Friday and would like to send these out next Monday. With this kind of support, I don't see it being a problem.

Can't donate cause I can't even afford to put gas in the car. Ill post all the specs though once I plug it into dynomation. I dont have any other information yet on the DOHC motors for the program to do any simulations yet but will eventually get to it. We really need the same thing done for a set of 91-95 cams though to fully compare. 1 set at a time though. This will tell us the ramp up rate, which is vital information for simulations and comparing between cams.

I thought the cam timing for the 91-95 cams was a known thing.

According to Aaron its also "known" that the 96-97 cams are smaller.

I had the seat to seat and .050 specs for 91-95 before but lost them. They were on the site but someone deleted it and put the 96 specs up. I dunno, do you wanna listen to aaron? What josh is doing is getting us a cam pro plus data file for lift per degree, not just the peak, .050, and if you are lucky to find it elsewhere, the seat to seat. This is why its worth getting this information.

Okay good deal. if someone is going to do the early cams i will put in my 10 bucks for that too.

I think i have the specs from the site for the early cams around here somewhere in a DD file or something...

373 lift exh. Yeah, i think those are the .05 specs though, not seat to seat. Id like to have the complete file for the older cams. Josh has a set of 92 cams as well but it depends on pricing.

Im going to place a bet that the timing is different and the duration is shorter. I already know they are .370" lift like all the others. But visibly 96's are not as aggressive as 94-95's. It's a difference you can actually SEE. Plus I'm pretty sure that with larger runners, better combustion chamber design and raised compression, a 5 hp gain is a joke. Im anxious to see the results though.
