Are you guys going with the HD variant? You'll need a trans controller. There is a stand alone one now for that trans out.

yes, i'm going with the 4T65E. just found out today it's a go-- SWEET ASS!!! i'm ordering the sprocket conversion kit which makes the FDR 3.69, and double checking that the LSD for the HD will fit the standard 65E, will be talking with FAST and PCS about pricing the tranny controller with custom wiring harness, and ordering the tranny.

fairly sure the hd diff. will fit

might wanna look into an diff. oil squirter, from what i hear thats one of the many things that keeps the zzp built 65's running into the 9's

i am too, but i'm not sure if they did anything different to the diff. not worried about an oil squirter. don't believe any GM FWD tranny has a diff oil squirter. a stock 65E will handle my slightly modded 3.1 even if it was built to the max in n/a trim. i also think you are referring to the W-bodies running 9's. my J-body will never see 11's. pretty sure i'm safe. besides, i won't even be able to touch the engine for at least 2 years.

no, i dont believe any stockers do either but if you plan to make over 350-400hp you might wanna look into it just to be safe

and yes, i am talking about w-bodies

diff oiling only becomes a real issue if your spinning one tire. with an open diff, if one tire is spinning (say in a burnout) the carrier is spinning so fast that the oil is unable to get into the side/spider gears, the spider seizes up on the pin and it breaks the pin, breaking the case. oil sprayers may help, but the real answer is to put a proper limited slip in and dont do one tire burnouts.

uhhh, yeah...gonna be another month before i can get the parts in. waiting to see about having PCS make FAST's harness for the FAST tranny controller. otherwise, it's all ordered and on the way: 3.69 sprocket conversion kit, LSD, & tranny. tranny will get here thurs or fri. then the brackets/mounts can be fabed at least. slowly but surely.
