    if i dont have the computer programmed for it will i have trouble with just codes or more? if i just have a code i'm fine with it for a while, but i don't want to run lean or something like that

    The EGR is an emissions system. It allows a metered amount of exhaust gas into the intake at highway speeds. The only gain in removing it is helping to keep the intakes clean.

    alright cool, thanks for the help, i just posted in the members rides section if you want to see what this work is going to be done to.

    im looking at doing the UIM first and then finding someone to help me with the LIM when the time comes because that task is a little bigger obviously, thanks for the help

You would think that the step would make things worse, but as Ben mentioned not all the gains will be had where parts meet at the gasket.     thanks ben, i havent posted a ton but everything i have posted you have helped a ton with, i have a nice gasket matched intake manifold lined up that is also polished for a great price, but i wouldnt do the LIM right away, which LIM that you carry would be similar to a gasket matched UIM or would you need pics to justify that?

    Like Brad said, get the ported upper and lower, and the Tb after if money is the issue. If not, only getting a larger Tb will benifit till you get the lower ported to match an upper ported intake.
    Having just a ported lower might not yeild as much of a gain than having both either.
    Also, taking the lower intake off while the upper is removed is less work than taking just the upper intake off in most applications, so if your there, you maise well do both, and its always a good idea to replace the lower intake manifold gaskets with felpro steels.
