Sounds good to me. So i just have to get the intake to fit on, wait for the push-rods, but in the mean time i'm tossing in the engine this weekend so i can start building up the drivers side header and figuring out how to get my accessory to fit and so forth. Should be interesting along with the DIS. Ill be honest been putting off the whole dis thing because of the ring I either have to make or notch out that pulley...that is new territory for me.
Too bad its not as easy as last years build. (the pic attatched) that was a cake walk.
Did you have to just cut the upper lip of the timing cover? I started to fit some things together while i await the pushrods and noticed that the lower intake will not sit down from the timing cover but didnt wana start hacking things up till i was sure.
Ok I just thought i read that a new one had to be placed there but if I can get away with using the old and using a diferent hose then im ok with that. I think I will understand the placement of the parts much better once the engine is in the car. Pics on the internet are one thing but its always better to see it in person.
I used the BCC unit, worked great.
I had the V8 radiator in mine, not sure what the upper hose was from but the lower was from a 3.4 4th gen.
yea there just 2002 3400 rockers so there fulcrum. Thanks

If I'm looking at the picture with the head on the block, it looks like a roller fulcrum rocker, that is self aligning. No pushrod guide needed for that.
Whether or not you use guides depends on what rockers you're using. If you're using the stock 3400 rockers, you can't use guides. If not, you will need to find a set of guides for a 93-95 3100, and I'm not even 100% sure those will work. As for me, I merely cut the iron head pushrod guides and mounted them. BUT, the iron head guides WILL NOT WORK in the corners of the cylinder heads without some sort of machining to the intake.
Made some progress over the weekend. I do have one question as i'm getting ready to order 6.287 and 5.937 inch push-rods. Do I use guides on my 3.1L iron block? If so which ones and how to I make that work? I wasent sure If I used them or not but I need to find out some info because I don't know If I need hardened pushrods or not.
