    When I search for those part numbers I'm not able to find who makes it.

    Locally I get Kloyes timing set. Is that the same or should I purchase it
    online from GM parts direct?

    That cam spec sheet is allowing for a 1.5 ratio rocker arm, thus the gross lift of .501

    Our engines using the stock rockers are 1.6 so the cam specs out at .534 gross lift.

    So you will need the 28986 springs.

    Got the cam/pushrods today. I attached the included spec sheet. it says it needs
    different springs, so just want to make sure the 26986 Valve Springs are what I need.

    Hopefully next week I can swing the headers and the tuner the following and get this
    thing done already.

    I have to wait until Saturday to order the springs. Long week, lots of crap, so ended up
    short.

    @asylummotorsports, thanks for the part numbers for using the pre-99 chain. I wanted
    to do that but couldn't find that on the forum.

    The 26915 may actually operate above .500 lift, and coil bind is certainly above that, but they aren't designed to operate at those levels.

    That is the key.

    So yes they may work, but you are outside the optimal operating range.

    As far as not using the recommended associated parts, you are once again compromising the parts as to how they were designed to work.

    They don't publish these numbers and recommendations for the good of their health.

    ok so you read it right out of the store. Is that supposed to disprove what i said? Because trust me, what i said is true.

    i'm thinking that info is good for 3400's, but inaccurate for 3500's. Because like i said, me and dave are both full 3500, rev to 7k, both using those springs with stock LX9 seats, seals, keepers and retainers, i'm a bit over .500", and he's WAY over that, with no valve float. he's contacted the pistons with his valves before, but he's got a waaaay long duration cam, and his timing chain was stretched all to hell.

    These Comp springs are designed for the LS1, and as such require the LS style seats and different seals to fit the 60V6 pushrod motors. These springs offer .500 max lift and a spring pressure of 136# @ 1.700" and 262# @ 1.300.

    are you guys sure about the 26915's? i was under the impression that they were good to .560 or .600, seeing as how i'm running them on .506" lift, and Dave is running them on .539"/.549", and we both pull all the way to 7k. They also work with all the stock 3500 seats, seals, and hardware.

    i had LS6's and broke 2 of them in the 8 months i had them in the car, so i know they aren't any good past .500".

    And the 26986 spring will work with that cam's ramp rate, because I have those springs and my cam has more duration than that cam listed there. So no worries there.

    Ok, that cam WILL work with the 26986 springs which work with stock hardware. Those are good for .6" lift

    The 26915 are only good for .5" lift.
    LS6 are only good for .51" lift.

    So you need the 26986 springs. I don't know what stock springs can take but I bet it's less than LS6 can for lift..

    3118/3118 lobes with a 113 ICL and 112 LSA.
    Specs, .533/.533 lift, 260/260 adv duration, 206/206 duration @ 0.050

    I have a 04' 3500 from a Malibu with 13k on it.

    I should really read on this stuff when I'm fresh, not when I'm drinking.

    Tuning, I know a guy who is going to help with this tune. This is a hobby
    more than anything. It's fun, I've pulled motors/transmissions and do
    basic work, so I hope to try building a complete engine over the winter
    with the help of a friend. I have loads to learn, but we all have to start
    somewhere.

    I have no experience tuning, but it's something I want to learn. I also
    want to learn more about how the computers in the cars work. The best
    way to learn is to try something. I don't have a garage anymore so
    it's more difficult to do these projects until I get a new place with one.
    More or less, I want to learn how the computers communicate and just
    do whatever is needed for whatever project I choose to undertake.

    My last project got scuffed because business went to hell in 2008 and
    I had to move so I sold my project off to someone who had room.

    This is a small project that will be my daily driver. Once it's done, I can
    start planning a new long-term project. I just want to be sure I get
    everything I need to make sure this one works the best it can and it
    will last.

    I think I read the cam table wrong. I think the stock springs will work
    fine. All the better, less chances of failure.
